Why here: On this occassion its unfinished business from the 2000 effort. But in general, big climbing projects give a personal sense of objective and achievement. There are of course other reasons such as: the journey, the wonderfully colourful people, the romance of treading in the footsteps of great explorers and legendary climbers, the desire to push oneself to find out where the boundries are (and being surprised, as a fundamentally lazy person, that the boundaries are invariably both flexible and further out than you thought).
3 criteria for success: physiology, mountaineering experience, attitude.
