Greetings from Kathmandu!

Yup that's affirmative - Team Gstaad is struggling with the comforts of the Hotel Yak & Yeti, in Kathmandu. Well it's only been 1 week after all - we'll soon get used to the three, or was it four helpings at the Buffet...

So, it all started as Team Gstaad was descending after 2 nights at Camp 3 - Lhotse Face at 7,400m. We were discussing the merits of spending some quality time 'down low'. Perhaps a few nights at Namche Bazaar - fattening up for our summit attempt...however the concept of having to walk/trek/grovel all that way and not forgetting the absolute struggle all the way back up to Base Camp, was quickly dismissed by Marcel when he suggested we 'take the damn Helicopter'.

The desire the expand on such a great idea was added to and Marcel was enlightened by the fact that the Yak & Yeti was only another 30 minutes from Namche...by Heli... So, quicker than you can say 'one Swiss franc' (in Gstaad dialect!) Team Gstaad was heading to Club Nirvana...that's 1st on your left after the Buffet...

Once we were all used to the temperature, the swimming pool soon became the venue for all Expedition meetings, plans & proposals - in particular the breakfast, lunch & dinner schedule...

Early morning (7am!) wake up calls from Russ "Big Boss" Brice at BC - North Side revealed pure and absolute envy of the Gstaad Teams well executed mission for 'a well earned rest'...
Although rather 'seedy' (Kiwi for "horrendously hung-over") Big Boss was making a bad attempt to play down his traditional Base Camp Party..it should be noted that suspicions for the early wake up call was based on the fact that it's very likely he hadn't actually been to bed!

However, from a very unreliable source - "Irish Times" it is rumoured that Big Boss was seen dancing (Gyrating?) at North Col in his (favourite) Britney Spears outfit...if only fishnets were thermal...! This sort of behaviour was not tolerated by the north side team and Big Boss was sent to Cho Oyu for 2 days to sort out an obvious loose wire and attempt to get on the 'right frequency'...

From the same unreliable (honey coated rumours!) source, Big Boss has returned and it seems that all is back...to where it began.

And for those of us continually struggling with the TV remote...the writer would greatly appreciate any information on what channel "FashionTV" is on...please.

See you on the far side!
