It is a pleasure to announce from Himex base camp at 1030 this morning Nepal time, our climbers Dan Horne and Frank Seidel were standing on the summit of Mt Manaslu at 8163m.
Right beside Dan and Frank was our climbing Sirdar Phurba Tashi and Sherpa Nigma Sona, both talented long term Himex Sherpa and were instrumental in making this summit attempt safe and achievable.

This strong team of four departed camp 3 after midnight, and climbed hard through the night to reach the summit, on the first weather window on Manaslu this season.

While base camp was under persistent and sometimes heavy rain throughout the night, the team of four were enjoying clear & calm conditions for the entire climb.

Although a long ascent and exhausted on the summit, they sounded in excellent shape on the radio and very pleased with their efforts.

Currently, they are all on their way back down the mountain and we are looking forward to seeing them arrive at base camp tomorrow morning.

Stay tuned, as a more thorough newsletter will be put together once the team arrive back to base camp, along with some photographs of their climb.

Many thanks,
